Pacaas Novos tribe, Brazil (December 30th, 2008): Delegations from 17 villages came to a leadership conference for the Pacaas Novos church this month. Pacaas Novos pastors taught from Romans. Thank the Lord with us for the work He is doing among these people.

 

Brazil (December 23rd, 2008): Christopher and Ginger Mackey arrived in Brazil last week, and are preparing to begin ministry there. Thank the Lord with us for the excellent progress they have made in learning Portuguese.

 

Pacaas Novos tribe, Brazil (December 22nd, 2008): Missionary Zenilson Bezerra's recent check of a Bible translation got off to a slow start, but then went so well that one Pacaas Novos man said it was as if God's Word was speaking directly to him. Thank the Lord with us for good progress and clear translation.

 

Brazil (December 19th, 2008): Two manifestos were presented to congressmen Wednesday that support the work missionaries are doing in Brazil. Please pray that current legislation that would affect missionaries in tribal areas be impeded until the matter is looked at more thoroughly on a broader scale. Find out more -- read the story >>

 

Brazil (December 17th, 2008): New legislation could remove missionaries from tribal locations. At a meeting this week representatives from several evangelical mission boards spoke to government representatives about making changes to the document. Please pray that their voice will be heard and that ministries among the tribal people can continue. Find out more -- read the story >>

 

Yanomami tribe, Brazil (December 12th, 2008): Please pray for Yanomami believers to stand strong and faithful even as the culture around them seeks to build up the number of witch doctors in the area. Find out more -- read the story >>

 

Brazil (December 11th, 2008): Leaders of NTM Aviation met with another group this week to discuss a mission aviation program to serve church planters in remote tribal areas in western Brazil. The meetings went well and all parties were positive about a partnership developing. Please pray for all the pieces to come together.

 

Yanomami tribe, Brazil (December 2nd, 2008): Sergio, a Yanomami believer, was delighted with God's provision for his family. Pray that he and other Yanomamis will be encouraged in their faith as they see God's generous provision. Find out more -- read the story >>

 

Yanomami tribe, Brazil (November 24th, 2008): A Yanomami Bible teacher has been invited to meet with witchdoctors who want to see more young men taking up their trade. Please pray that Brais will have wisdom and that his faith in Christ will speak to hearts. Find out more -- read the story >>

 

Yanomami tribe, Brazil (November 14th, 2008): Yanomami church leaders are taking difficult steps to discourage infanticide. Pray that this helps not only end the practice, but draw unbelieving Yanomamis to God. Find out more -- read the story >>

Pai Tavy Tera tribe, Brazil (November 3rd, 2008): Nine missionary candidates from Brazil recently traveled to Paraguay to observe teaching methods among the Pai Tavy Teras. Yanomami tribe, Brazil (October 27th, 2008): Agusto, a Yanomami believer, prayed that God would supply a fish to feed his family. He was delighted when God immediately answered his prayer. Brazil (October 17th, 2008): Teacher Karla Olsen and her class met the governor of the state when bad weather forced his helicopter to land on school property. Please pray for the teachers and missionary children as they live and learn in other cultures. Find out more -- read the story >>

 

Yanomami tribe, Brazil (September 29th, 2008): A husband and wife who profess faith in Christ saddened the hearts of church leader Brais and missionary Mike Hartman when they called upon a witchdoctor to deal with the wife's illness. Guanano tribe, Brazil (September 9th, 2008): Moses and Delfina are expecting harsh criticism for burying their stillborn child without doing Guanano death rituals. The couple is seeking to demonstrate their trust in God to the community. Pray for God's strength to stand and that they will experience God's comfort in their loss.
